Tax Revenue Appeals Tribunal is a quasi-judicial institution. Administratively the Tribunal is an  Institution under the Ministry of Finance. TRAT jurisdictions are stipulated under section 7 of the Tax Revenue Appeals Act, Cap. 408. which states that "The Tribunal shall have sole jurisdiction in all appeals arising from the decision of the Board on disputes on which original jurisdiction is conferred on the Board."
